Info Day On Funding Opportunities For Projects In The Field Of Culture And Media

An info day dedicated to funding opportunities through EU programs and funds was held at the French Institute in Novi Sad . The event was organized as part of the Open Doors of the European House Novi Sad series, and attendees had the opportunity to follow the presentations in person or via Zoom platform.

The presentation focused on the Creative Europe program, providing a detailed resume of its structure and subprograms. The attendees learned that the program consists of two key sectors: Culture and MEDIA. While the Culture subprogram encompases various fields of arts and cultural activities, MEDIA focuses on the audiovisual industry and its specific needs.

One of the major aspects was the discussion about the application process. It was explained that only legal entities are eligible applicants, while natural persons will have the opportunity to participate in mobility projects through Culture Moves Europe  program, managed by Goethe Insitute in Brussels.

Application process and past results

Jovana Rapajić employed at Fund for European Affairs and Development of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina spoke about Creative Europe and process of applying for EU calls. She pointed out that insitutions and organizations of various capacities are eligible to apply, regardless of their size or years of existence.

“The calls are structured in a way that enables participation in multiple categories which differ in terms of the amount of financial support, co-financing percentage and partnership requirements,” stated Rapajić.

She also reflected on Serbia’s past results within the Creative Europe program, pointing out that between 2014 and 2020,  152 institutions and organizations from Serbia participated in 99 projects, and had received a total of EUR 11,969,504.68 from the program’s budget. These results position Serbia as one of the most successful countries in Central and Eastern Europe within this program.
