The fifth project meeting held within the framework of the RETFOR strategic project

The fifth project meeting, within the framework of the strategic project “Strengthening Climate Change Resilience Measures for the Protection and Restoration of Ecosystems in the Spačva-Bosut Basin – RETFOR”, was held in the premises of the Vojvodina Chamber of Commerce in Novi Sad, on March 10, 2026.

Members of the project partners – Croatian Forests ltd. (lead partner), Public Company “Vojvodinašume”, Hrvatske vode, Public Water Management Company “Vode Vojvodine“,  Competence Centre Ltd. for reserarch and development from Vinkovci and host, Fund for European Affairs and Development of the AP Vojvodina participated in the meeting.

The third project’s period was discussed in detail, and partners had the opportunity to present their reports, share experiences, as well as to highlight key challenges and achieved results. The meeting also discussed upcoming activities and the implementation of further activities for the coming period. Various challenges faced by the project partners were also discussed, but it was concluded that there are currently no obstacles to the implementation of the project itself.

The area of ​​intervention of the RETFOR project is cooperation for a greener and more climate-resilient programming area. The project is implemented on the territory of the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Serbia in the period from 1 November 2024 to 31 October 2027, with the aim of increasing resilience to climate change and preserving the biodiversity of the Spačva-Bosut Basin ecosystem. The value of the RETFOR project is 2,808,128.24 euros, of which 85%, or 2,386,908.99 euros, is financed by the European Union through the Interreg IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Croatia – Serbia for the period 2021 to 2027.
