“European Affairs Fund” APV supported the European Village event in Zrenjanin
Representatives of the APV “European Affairs” Fund visited the Office for Local Economic Development in Zrenjanin and opened the first in a series of meetings this year with the leaders of local self-governments in Vojvodina, with the aim of supporting and initiating new directions of action to encourage regional development. With a review of the successful projects that are currently being implemented in the territory of Zrenjanin and its surroundings, financed from the cross-border and transnational cooperation program supported by the European Union, during the conversation with the city councilor for project management, Biljan Guzin, we also discussed the types of further cooperation by more active involvement in strengthening opportunities personnel capacity at the local level through the Fund’s educational programs, such as “Management of regional development through EU funds”, but also numerous potentials for further complicating projects of strategic importance for this region.
The Fund used this opportunity to once again support the now traditional “European Village” event, which, through the active involvement of young people, promotes diversity of European peoples, their cultural and historical diversity and traditions. This year’s event was held in the “Zvonimir Zvonko Vujin” sports hall, with the participation of 28 primary schools from the territory of the City of Zrenjanin, which were represented by the EU member states, with the presence of guests, representatives of the embassies of the European Union, the EU Delegation in Serbia, the Ministry of European Integration, the Provincial of the Secretariat for Regional Development, Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-Government, as well as the “European Affairs” Fund of AP Vojvodina. As part of the event, a reception was held in the City Hall, and guests were greeted by Deputy Mayor Saša Santovac, Assistant Mayors Snežana Vučurević and Marija Damjanović, and City Council members Saša Kandić and Slaviša Vlačić.
