Social and economic inclusion

Overall objective:
To contribute to the improvement of the general health of elderly citizens by increasing accessibility to basic health-preventive services in rural areas of the cross-border region between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina

Specific objectives:
To upgrade existing health-preventive services for elderly citizens by improving their efficiency and comprehensiveness according to present needs in Srem District and 5 cantons in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Tuzla Canton, Posavina Canton, Central Bosnia Canton, Canton Sarajevo, and Zenica-Doboj Canton).

Expected results:
1.    New standardized health-preventive services for elderly citizens in rural areas created
2.    Local mobile teams for the provision of health-preventive services activated
3.    Public health education campaign conducted
 
Main activities:
(1)    Standardization of health-preventive services to be provided by local mobile teams of the Red Cross in rural areas 
(2)    Preparation of a training curricula for local mobile team members for working in the field
(3)    Training of local mobile team members for fieldwork
(4)    Creation of local mobile teams for fieldwork in rural areas
(5)    Provision of equipment for local mobile teams for fieldwork
(6)    Organization of info days with preventive examinations for elderly citizens in rural areas
(7)    Organization of health-prevention days
(8)    Preparation of promotional material
(9)    Organization of professional conferences
(10)     Project management

Target groups:
Members of local mobile teams of the Red Cross from 12 municipalities in the cross-border region, elderly citizens and their families, the population in 12 municipalities in Srem District and cantons in Bosnia and Herzegovina with a focus on the elderly and their family members, members of the professional community who work with the elderly (social workers, medical workers, etc.)
