The large-scale project “Smart Agro-Innovation and Training Action- SAGITTA” has been officially launched
Large-scale project „Smart Agro-innovation and training – SAGITTA“ has been officially launched in the premises of Sceince Techonolgy Park Novi Sad on January 28th, 2026.
The project aims to improve the economic and agricultural performance of the region using equal access to education, digitalization and the development of modern training programs for lifelong learning. The SAGITTA project will introduce three new courses in the fields of viticulture, natural resource conservation and agro-digitalization.
The main goal of the project is to improve access to education, increase employment and stimulate the economic and cultural development of the region. The total value of this project is more than 3.4 million euros.
Mr Balint Juhas, President of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and acting assistant Minister at the Ministry of European Integration of the Republic of Serbia Nemanja Martinović addressed the conference, and representatives of the partners: PHD Sarlota Kulcsár, from Foundation Pro Scientia Naturae Senta, Serbia; PHD Ágnes Kiš from Local Government of Mórahalom, Hungary; PHD Andrésiné Ambrus Ildikó, from Alföld Agricultural Vocational Training Center, Hungary and Mr Ognjen Dopuđ, Director of Fund for European Affairs and Development of AP Vojvodina spoke about importance of this project. The project itself was presented by project manager PHD László Lengyel, while expert PHD Norbet Somogyi spoke about the global context and justification of the project.
President Juhasz pointed out that the SAGITTA project represents a transition from traditional to modern agriculture, emphasizing the importance of knowledge and education. The Assistant Minister wished a lot of success in the course of the project and stated that the joint development of the entire region is much more important than the great economic impact of the project itself.
Director Dopuđ said that SAGITTA responds to the real needs of our region. “Although the Hungarian-Serbian cross-border area is traditionally strong in agriculture, we are faced with a lack of quality training programs for adult, modern and qualified workforce, as well as insufficient application of digital solutions in agriculture. It is in these areas that this project brings about change. Through the development and accreditation of three new adult education programs – in viticulture, natural resource conservation, and agro-digitalization, SAGITTA will enable the acquisition of practical and applicable knowledge, aligned with the needs of the labor market. Added value of the project is the joint development of inclusive and digital teaching materials, which will be available and applicable on both sides of the border,” said Mr. Dopuđ.
