On Friday, October 3, participants of the 11th and 12th cycles of the Specialist Program “Regional Development Management through EU Funds” visited the Gourmet Center in Vrdnik as an example of good practice, as the center was built within the project “Authentic Gastronomic Taste for Sustainable Socio-Economic Development of the Cross-Border Area – Pannonia Gourmet”.

The project was implemented within the framework of the Interreg IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Croatia – Serbia 2014-2020. The participants were welcomed by the project manager Vladica Vojinović, who presented the project in detail, from idea to realization. The aim of the project was to develop innovative tourism products and promote regional gastronomic tourism through the development of cross-border gastronomic offer, capacity building of stakeholders and overall increase of the attractiveness of the cross-border area. The project was implemented in the period from December 2019 to December 2021.plementation, as well as all the challenges they encountered and how they overcame them. The lead partner was Educons University from Sremska Kamenica, while the other partners were the city of Vinkovci, the Tourist Organization Irig and the Agency for Development and Investment of the City of Vinkovci VIA d.o.o. The total value of the project was EUR 1,410,837.72.

After the presentation, the participants visited the Gourmet center, which also has accommodation facilities, thus completing the first field visit.

The specialist program “Regional Development Management through EU Funds” has been a significant instrument for strengthening the capacity of employees in local governments, provincial authorities, public enterprises, educational and cultural institutions, as well as civil society organizations for more than a decade. Through interactive lectures, field visits, and study trips, participants acquire practical knowledge and skills that they directly apply in their work, and numerous successfully implemented generations confirm the quality and lasting value of this Program.
