International Danube Day celebrated in Brussels

International Danube Day was marked on June 30, 2025, in Brussels through a panel discussion jointly hosted by the Mission of the Republic of Serbia to the EU and the Office of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.

The European Commission’s representative for macro-regional strategies highlighted the significance of interregional collaboration in order to fully enhance the economic, environmental, tourist and cultural potential of the Danube region.

The panel underscored the significance of safeguarding water resources, enhancing river infrastructure, and fostering the growth of green economy, as well as promoting tourism and culture along the entire Danube River region.

Fund for European Affairs and Development of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina was invited to discuss the significance of European Union programs for Vojvodina’s development, highlighting the experiences of Serbian partners within the Danube Transnational Program.

On this occasion, the upcoming third call for project proposals under the Danube Program, set for September 2025, was officially announced.
