The project involved the suppression of ambrosia covering a territory that almost doubled the size planned by the project activities, whereas the pollen concentration in Sombor was decreased by 50% in comparison to the previous year. Thus, outstanding results, as well as the project objective, which was to protect and improve the environment, were achieved.<\/p>\n<p>The conference was opened by Nemanja Deli\u0107, Mayor of City of Sombor, who handed the awards to elementary and secondary school pupils for participating in the international literary and art competition carried out within the project. The attendees were also addressed by Ivana \u0110urica, Deputy Director of the European Affairs Fund of Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, R\u00e1c P\u00e9ter, Deputy Head of the Joint Technical Secretariat, Tatjana \u0110uri\u0107, Assistant Provincial Secretary for Urban Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection and dr. Sa\u0161a Bo\u0161njak, PhD, Project Manager.<\/p>\n<p>The project resulted from the partnership among the European Affairs Fund of Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Provincial Secretariat for Urban Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection, City of Sombor and Local-government of Baja.
