In a press conference after the meeting, the initiative to form the region of Ni\u0161 was supported, whilst Mr. Veli\u010dkov also announced the establishment of a local office to be involved in European affairs, whereby the Office for European Affairs would provide assistance. Dimitrovgrad, being a municipality on the border with Bulgaria, has important transport potential towards the EU, as well as an opportunity to use EU funds, especially through the CBC Program. \u201cThe Autonomous Province of Vojvodina wants to activate the whole country, therefore, we also talked about common future projects on establishing industrial parks, where municipalities from Vojvodina and South Serbia would cooperate, with the assistance of EU partners\u201d, said Predrag Novikov.
