As part of the MOS-Cross 3 project, in the period from September 6 to 7, 2023, \r\nin Vinkovci, Croatia, training was held for health workers.\r\nThe training was attended by 20 health workers from Vinkovci, as well as members \r\nof the project teams from the Institute for Public Health from Sombor, \r\nthe Teaching Institute for Public Health of Osijek-Baranja County and \r\nthe \"European Affairs\" Fund of AP Vojvodina.\r\n\r\nDuring the first day, the participants were presented with the MOS-Cross 3 project. \r\nDuring the presentation, there were talks about mosquito species, control protocols,\r\n treatments and surveillance, diagnoses and mosquito-borne diseases, as well as \r\nsampling methods. At the end of the first day, \r\nthe participants had a practical exercise in the field, which involved \r\nsampling mosquitoes and setting traps. During the second day, \r\nthe participants learned about the Protocol for health workers in the event of \r\nan epidemic caused by mosquito-borne diseases and the ways in which mosquitoes \r\ntransmit diseases, and with the continuation of the lecture, the participants \r\nwere informed about the diagnosis and treatment of mosquito-borne diseases. \r\nAt the end of the second day, participants examined samples of \r\ncaptured mosquitoes and performed species determination as part of a \r\npractical exercise.\r\nThe lecturers were: prof. of biology and chemistry, Magdalena Sikora, \r\nwho presented the project and held a lecture on the topic Cross-border \r\ncooperation of health institutions from Croatia and Serbia in the prevention \r\nof infectious diseases transmitted by mosquitoes, \r\nprim. M.Sc. honey Dr. Dragoslava \u010cubrilo, specialist in hygiene, \r\nwho spoke on the topic Types of mosquitoes important for health and \r\nsampling methods, Dr. Tatjana Medi\u0107, epidemiologist, who spoke on the \r\ntopic Diagnosis and treatment of diseases transmitted by mosquitoes: \r\nWest Nile fever and Zika fever, Ivan Mihi\u0107 , mag.biol. and Ivan Kurtek,\r\n M.Sc.Biology, with the topic of Expert surveillance, control and treatment of \r\nmosquitoes, followed by Ivan Kurtek, M.Sc.Biology, with the topic of \r\nHow mosquitoes transmit diseases, Jelena Zeli\u0107, Ph.D., specialist in hygiene, \r\nwith the topic of Presentation of Protocols for healthcare workers in the event of \r\nan epidemic caused by diseases transmitted by mosquitoes and Dr. Tatjana Medi\u0107, \r\nepidemiologist, with the topic Diagnosis and treatment of diseases transmitted \r\nby mosquitoes 2 - Malarija i \u010cikungunja.\r\n\"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\"\r\n<\/span><\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
