The 12th edition of the OPEN DAYS \u2013 European Week of Regions and Cities was held under the slogan \u201cGrowing together \u2013 Smart investment for people\u201d in Brussels from 6th to 9th October 2014, gathering o<\/p>\n

The 12th edition of the OPEN DAYS \u2013 European Week of Regions and Cities was held under the slogan \u201cGrowing together \u2013 Smart investment for people\u201d in Brussels from 6th to 9th October 2014, gathering over 5,800 participants.<\/p>\n

In its framework, the traditional \u201cVojvodina Day\u201d was marked at the Press Club Brussels Europe on 6th October 2014, by opening the exhibition of Milan Konjovi\u0107\u2019s paintings \u201cThe Landscapes and the People of Vojvodina\u201d and of publications representing the cultural heritage of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, as well as by the performance of Aleksandar Dujin\u2019s jazz quartet. The event was organised by the European Affairs Fund of Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Provincial Secretariat for Culture and Public Information, \u201cMilan Konjovi\u0107\u201d Gallery and Vojvodina Institute for Culture. In addition to the President of the Provincial Government, Bojan Pajti\u0107 SJD and Provincial Secretary for Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-government, Branislav Bugarski, the attendees were addressed by the Vice-president of the Provincial Government and Provincial Secretary for Culture and Public Information, Slavi\u0161a Gruji\u0107 and Myriam Ferran, Head of the Directorate General for Enlargement Serbia unit in the European Commission.<\/p>\n

The following day, 7th October 2014, the workshop \u201cInterregional cooperation on sustainable and smart development for the economy based on well-being: towards EXPO 2015\u201d was held and it was organized by the consortia \u201cMotors for Growth\u201d, comprising in addition to Vojvodina, the following partner regions: Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg (Germany), Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna (Italy), Catalonia (Spain), Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes (France), Flanders (Belgium) and Lesser Poland (Poland). The representative of AP Vojvodina to address the participants was the Provincial Secretary for Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-government, Branislav Bugarski.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the delegation of AP Vojvodina had a number of meetings with the officials of EU institutions, European regions and cities, among whom were the EU Commissioner for Regional Policy, Johannes Hahn; Head of the European Parliament Delegation for South Eastern Europe, Eduard Kukan; President of the State Parliament of Hesse, Norbert Kartmann; President of Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes Regional Council, Jean-Jack Queyranne; Vice-president of Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes Regional Council, Bernard Soulage; President of the Slovak Region of Pre\u0161ov, Peter Hudik; President of the region of Istria, Valter Flego; Minister of Agriculture of Lombardy, Gianni Fava; as well as representatives of the Osjek-Baranja County and City of Rijeka. In order to make available its European experience and contacts to anyone in Serbia being interested in it, the representatives of AP Vojvodina also had a meeting with the representatives of the \u0160umadija region, Pomoravlje District and City of Kragujevac.<\/p>\n
