A two-day partner meeting, within the Commheritour project was organized in Novi Sad on February 25th and 26th. Along the analisys of project so far, the exhibition \u201eOrnament and Identity\u201c was opened in the Museum of Vojvodina. The authors of the exhibition are professors and assistants of the Academy of Technical and Artistic Vocational Studies Belgrade, Department of the Higher Textile School for Design, Technology and Management in Belgrade.<\/p>\n

Rose of Stapar, as a Visual Code of Tradition is an exploration of one of the most striking motifs of Vojvodina carpet weaving \u2013 the Staparska rose\u00a0 (Rose of Stapar)\u2013 as a symbol of cultural identity and duration. Starting from its original form in weaving, the exhibition traces the transformations of the ornament through the medium of printed textiles and contemporary clothing design.<\/p>\n

Rose of Stapar is seen not only as a motif for printed textiles, but also as a form of clothing \u2013 a structure that shapes the cut, silhouette and visual identity of contemporary clothing. Through the dialogue of tradition and modernity, this recognizable ornament becomes a dynamic sign: at the same time a guardian of heritage and a starting point for new authorial readings. The exhibition opens up a space for reflection on continuity, reinterpretation and the role of textiles in shaping cultural identity today.<\/p>\n

The exhibition was opened by PHD Katarina Nikoli\u0107, professor of professional studies and head of the Department of the Higher Textile School for Design, Technology and Management, and the project was introduced by Sanja \u010cuturilov Veselinovi\u0107 from the Fund for European Affairs and Development of the AP of Vojvodina.<\/p>\n
