The \u201cPorts as driving Wheels of Entrepreneurial Realm \u2013 PoWER\u201d project is coming to its end, which was formally marked by the PoWER Final Event “From ports to hubs, from hubs to network” held online on 26th-27th November 2020.<\/p>\n

The event was dedicated to the presentation of the project achievements and of the established Innovation Hubs Network, as well as to the discussion \u2013 in the form of round tables among key experts of the Adriatic-Ionian Area – of topics such as the evolution of ports after the Covid-19 outbreak and strengths and challenges of the transition pathways identified by PoWER for the evolution of ports into Innovation Hubs.<\/p>\n

The first day of the PoWER Final Event was a closed-doors meeting for Protocol subscribers that started with a welcome speech by Marco Padula, Project Coordinator, Institute for Construction Technologies \u2013 National Research Council of Italy, followed by a presentation on the PoWER project, its objectives, results and outputs by Francesca Picenni, Institute for Construction Technologies \u2013 National Research Council of Italy. The pilot specific results and expected follow-ups were presented by the representatives of the PoWER pilot ports \u2013 Bari, Br\u010dko, Durres, Igoumenitsa, Ravenna and Rijeka: Ms Valentina Santoliquido, Institute for Construction Technologies \u2013 National Research Council of Italy; Ms Aida \u010celjo, CETEOR d.o.o. Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina); Mr Fotis Stergiopoulos, Centre for Research and Technology CERTH (Hellas); Ms Saveria Teston, CNA Ravenna (Italy); Ms Floreta Kertusha, Durres Municipality (Albania). Thereafter, Roberto Malvezzi, ITC-CNR (Italy), hosted the subscribers\u2019 workshop with the aim of setting common Strategy-related IHN follow-up actions and detecting next possible topics to be investigated through the PoWER Methodology.<\/p>\n

The second day of the event, open to public, was opened by Prof. Ing. Antonio Occhiuzzi, Director of the Institute for Construction Technologies of the National Research Council of Italy, followed by Ms Adela Franja, ADRION Programme Project Officer, who spoke about the future perspectives of the ADRION Programme. The PoWER project and its objectives were presented by Mr Marco Padula, PoWER Project Coordinator. Dr. Adrian Hackaj, Research Director at Cooperation and Development Institute (Albania), moderated the experts\u2019 round table \u201cThe evolution of ports after the Covid-19 outbreak: Issues, challenges, new opportunities\u201d with: Mr Pirro Vengu, Director of Durres Port Authority (Albania), Mr Mirsad \u010custovi\u0107, Port of Br\u010dko (Bosnia & Herzegovina), Mr. Tvrtko Tomljenovi\u0107, Rijeka Port Authority (Croatia) and Mr Sabbatino Catani, Confcommercio Study Centre of Pescara (Italy). Dr. Fotis Stergiopoulos, Centre for Reseach & Technology (Hellas), moderated the second experts\u2019 round table \u201cPorts as logistic, digital, sustainability and economic hubs: Strengths and challenges of the four PoWER transition pathways for the evolution of ADRION ports\u201d with: Prof. Osman Metalla, Durres University (Albania), Mr Eners \u010covrk, IPSA institute Sarajevo (Bosnia & Herzegovina), Mr Tvrtko Tomljenovi\u0107, Rijeka Port Authority (Croatia), Mr Andrea Bardi, Institute for Transportation and Logistics (Italy), and Mr Francesco Magnanoli, Ravenna Port Authority (Italy).
\n\u0422he PoWER project, which has been implemented under the Intereg V-B Adriatic-Ionian Program 2014-2020 and co-financed by the European Union in the amount of EUR 1,220,944.42, to support the evolution of port areas into Innovation Hubs, and to create the Innovation Hubs Network, devoted to joint cooperation and development, has been successfully implemented in the cooperation of partners from 6 countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Italy and Serbia.<\/p>\n
