Within the framework of the project “Community-Based Models for the Sustainable Valorization of Craftsmanship in the Field of Cultural Heritage to Enhance the Economic and Tourism Performance of Remote Areas in the Danube Region \u2013 COMMHERITOUR”, two workshops were held on May 26 and 27, 2025, at the premises of the Science and Technology Park in Novi Sad.<\/p>\n
During the first workshop held on May 26, 2025, Katarina Nikoli\u0107, PhD, from the Academy of Technical and Artistic Professional Studies in Belgrade conducted a lecture titled \u201cThe History and Tradition of Stapar Kilim Weaving.\u201d<\/em> She highlighted that the tradition of Stapar kilim weaving has lasted for over two centuries. Her presentation also explored the motifs characteristic of these kilims and how they can be reinterpreted in a contemporary context. On the following day, at the second workshop, she delivered a lecture dedicated specifically to the motifs of Stapar kilims.<\/p>\n Following the workshops, professors from the Academy of Technical and Art Vocational Studies in Belgrade conducted a practical meeting together with their students, pupils from the \u201cBogdan \u0160uput\u201d School of Design in Novi Sad, as well as other workshops participants, on the topic: \u201cTechniques of Transposing and Creating Simple Patterns Inspired by Traditional Motifs\u201d.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The workshops were coordinated by members of the project team from Fund for European Affairs and Development of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, as part of a pilot initiative titled \u201cReviving Traditional Carpet Patterns by Involving Local Youth and Professionals in Creating New Product Designs.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n COMMHERITOUR project focuses on fostering socio-economic development through cultural heritage, culture, and tourism.
