Within the project MOS-Cross2 07.08.2023. In Sombor, the Closing Conference of the project was held in the Assembly Hall of the city of Sombor. The meeting was opened by the deputy mayor of the city of Sombor, Ljiljan Tico, and greeted all present. Director of the Institute for Public Health Sombor, Dr. Dragoslava \u010cubrilo, briefly presented the project. Director of the Institute for Public Health of Vojvodina, prof. Dr. Vlamidir Petrovi\u0107, also welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of the project in two areas in particular: the establishment of an early warning system for the presence of threats that can cause vector-borne diseases, especially if the vector is a mosquito, and the education of the population and local governments.\r\nMagdalena Sikora, professor of biology and chemistry, in front of the leading partner, the Teaching Institute for Public Health of the Osijek-Baranja County, welcomed those present and presented the activities and main results of the project, as well as the importance of cross-border cooperation between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Serbia, since mosquitoes do not they know the limits.\r\nDirector of the Institute for Public Health of the Po\u017eega-Slavonia County, Dr. Mato Matijevi\u0107, emphasized the importance of controlling and suppressing mosquitoes through joint action in the cross-border area.\r\nProf. Dr. Sanja Bijelovi\u0107 from the Institute of Public Health of Vojvodina presented the results of the project, the acquired equipment that is used for monitoring and controlling mosquitoes. The professor pointed out that this project improved the professional capacities of institutions, transferred and raised the level of knowledge both among employees and among the population.\r\nAs the main result of the project, billboards for killing mosquitoes, which are an innovation in the region, were presented, and a total of 50 were installed, 10 in Osijek-Baranja County, 10 in Po\u017eega-Slavonia County, a total of 20 in Croatia, 10 in Zapadno-Ba\u010d County and 20 in Juznoba\u010dki district, 30 in total in Serbia.\r\nDr. Jelena Zeli\u0107, in front of the Public Health Institute from Sombor, presented the sampling of mosquitoes, determination of species and determination of potential viruses, which were carried out during the project.\r\nThe members of the project team are 08.08.2023. together with the Public Health Institute of Sombor, \r\nthe Institute of Public Health of Vojvodina and the Institute of Public Health \r\nof the Po\u017eega-Slavonia County visited the illuminated info-panels (billboards) that attract and \r\nkill mosquitoes. Members of the Institute's project team from Sombor presented \r\nthe construction and design of mosquito control panels placed in the area of \u200b\u200bZapadno-Ba\u010dki District. \r\nThe panels were opened and the principle of operation of all parts was explained in detail.\r\n\"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\"\r\n<\/span><\/pre>\n<\/div>\n
