A working visit and second project meeting were held within the framework of the GREENSMES project

As part of the project “Enhancing the modernization, green innovations, and transition of SMEs towards sustainability through transnational cooperation, practices, and tools – GREENSMEs,” a project meeting and study visit were held in Herceg Novi, Montenegro, on April 2-3, 2025. The host of the event was the Municipality of Herceg Novi. The event gathered partners from the entire region with the aim to conduct a joint study and familiarize themselves with local and national practices in the fields of circular economy, green transition in business and sustainable development.

The event was opened by Ivan Otović, the President of the Municipal Assembly of Herceg Novi. Thereupon Ilija Peulić from the Secretariat for Ecology and Energy Efficiency of the Municipality of Herceg Novi addressed the attendees and spoke about experiences and projects implemented in the field of circular economy. Nikola Grgurević, Ph.D. in Economics, discussed sustainable economic development. In the afternoon, the Ecological Rural Household Morić presented their good practice, along with the NGO “Don’t Throw Away Bottles”.

On the second day, the partners visited Kameno and Vrbanj, where they learned about good practice examples in the field of innovation and self-sustainable eco-business through the promotion and preservation of tradition (Rural Household Palikuća).

Later in the day, the partners engaged in planning activities for the upcoming period and prepared for the next steps in further work, as well as activities related to PR and communications.
