Malaria Info Day held

As part of the Mos-Cross2 project, April 28, 2022 marked the international day of malaria called Info day on malaria. On that occasion, Sanja Čuturilov Veselinović, coordinator of the Mos-Cross2 project, addressed the audience in front of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina. Those present were also greeted by V.D. Assistant Provincial Secretary for Urbanism and Environmental Protection of the AP Vojvodina, Nemanja Erceg and expressed satisfaction that the project with such an important topic is being implemented in our territory.
Prof. Dr. Dušan Petrić spoke about climate change and malaria vectors and pointed to the expansion of the disease during the covid pandemic. The professor also pointed out the significant connection between temperature and humidity on the occurrence of autochthonous cases of malaria on the territory of Europe.
Assistant Dr. Tatjana Pustahija gave a lecture on “Malaria and other threatening diseases transmitted by mosquitoes.” In her lecture, the doctor also touched on the topic of prevention, as well as other infectious diseases transmitted by mosquitoes, which the Mosquito Control Project in Border Area 2 deals with.
Prof. Dr. Dušan Marinković spoke on the topic of integrated mosquito control, and made a significant parallel on the evolution of mosquito control.
After the lecture, a panel discussion was held with interesting questions and observations.
