Presentation on the occasion of Europe Day 2026
On the occasion of Europe Day, may 9th, as part of the “Open Doors” event organized by the European Economic and Social Committee, Serbia and Vojvodina once again had its promotional stand in Brussels, where the country’s economy, culture, science and gastronomy were presented. More than seven hundred visitors visited the Serbian stand, which shows great interest in Serbia, but also in the messages jointly presented by representatives of the Office of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina in Brussels and the Mission of the Republic of Serbia to the EU.
The “Open Doors” event of the European Economic and Social Committee is traditionally held on the occasion of Europe Day and allows citizens to learn about the work of the European institutions. This event is considered to be one of the important opportunities for direct contact between citizens and the EU institutions in Brussels, but also for the representation of candidate countries and partners of the Union.
Visitors had the opportunity to speak to the Head of the Operational Team for Serbia’s Accession to the European Union, Chief Negotiator and Head of the Serbian Mission to the EU, Ambassador Danijel Apostolović.
An important guest at the Serbian stand was the President of the European Economic and Social Committee, Seamus Boland, who, in a cordial conversation with the Head of the Office of the AP of Vojvodina, Nikola Vučurević, expressed his belief that “Serbia belongs to the European Union, but accession requires concrete results and reforms.”
Radio Television of Vojvodina reported on the event, and on that occasion, the Head of the Office Nikola Vučurević assessed that participation in this event is important for strengthening Serbia’s visibility in the institutions of the European Union and for direct connections with European partners. The second annual participation in the ‘Open Doors’ event is an opportunity to showcase the best of Serbia – from economic potential and innovation, to cultural heritage and traditional gastronomy.
