397,000 EUR for Allergen-Free Environment!

The ceremony for signing the Subsidy Contract, related to the “Support to Allergen-Free Environment” Project, with the Delegation of the European Commission was held in Subotica on 24 October 2011. The project is being implemented by the European Affairs Fund of Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, in cooperation with project partners from Serbia (Provincial Secretariat for Urban Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection and City of Sombor) and Hungary (City of Baja). The project aims at allergen (Ambrosia artemisiifolia, i.e. Common Ragweed) suppression in AP Vojvodina and City of Baja, in neighbouring Hungary, education and awareness raising on the need of environmental protection. The funding for this project (397,000 EUR) has been provided through EU funds, under the Hungary-Serbia IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme. The European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina has started with project implementation together with the Provincial Secretariat for Urban Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection, thus indicating the reality of new funding opportunities for our priorities through EU funds available for institutions in our country. Within the 2nd Call for Proposals under the Hungary-Serbia IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme, 12,363 001.58 EUR for co-financing 69 selected projects were approved.
