The meetings of the delegation of AP Vojvodina with representatives of European regions in Brussels

The delegation of AP Vojvodina in Brussels, led by Igor Mirović, President of the Provincial Government and István Pásztor, President of the Assembly of the AP Vojvodina, have held today a number of meetings with the representatives of the German region of Hessen, Upper Austria, Italian regions of Lombardy and Umbria, as well as the representatives of the Osijek-Baranja County.

The meetings were held with Friedrich von Heusinger, Head of the Representative Office of the State of Hessen to the EU, Viktor Sigl, President of the Assembly of Upper Austria, Valentina Aprea, member of the Regional Government of Lombardy in charge of education, culture, employment and labour policy, and Ivan Anušić, Prefect of the Osijek-Baranya County.

The topics of the discussions held during the participation of AP Vojvodina in the European Week of Regions and Cities involved the opportunities for concretizing the relations and intensifying the cooperation that Vojvodina had with those regions in different areas.

Special emphasis was put on the common interest to go a step further in the cooperation so far by linking development agencies, especially on projects towards European funds, as well as by networking scientific and technological institutions. In order to improve economic relations and cooperation, it was underlined that linking chambers of commerce was important in order to organize direct meetings among businessmen and present investment potential.

During the discussions, it was assessed that the intensification of parliamentary cooperation contributed to learning more about each other, so it was important to concretize the frameworks indicated in the protocols and agreements on cooperation that Vojvodina had signed with those regions.

The meetings at the Representative Office of Hessen and the Vojvodina European Office in Brussels were attended by Ognjen Bjelić, Provincial Secretary for Regional Development, Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-Government, Vidosava Enderić, Director of European Affairs Fund of the AP Vojvodina, Boško Vučurević, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina, and Srđan Mačkić, Head of the Vojvodina European Office in Brussels.
