The European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina at the International Energy and Investment Days

The Provincial Secretariat for Energy and Mineral Resources, Central European Development Forum (CEDEF) and Novi Sad Fair organised the International Energy and Investment Days at the “Master” Congress Centre of the Novi Sad Fair on 10th and 11th March 2016.

The Provincial Secretariat for Energy and Mineral Resources, Nenad Stanković MSc opened this year’s event welcoming the participants and reminding them that the World Energy Efficiency Day was established on 5thMarch 1998 when Austria hosted the world conference where energy and energy efficiency were discussed, which is way this year’s event was moved to March.

“Energy efficiency does not mean a compromise affecting the quality of life, but smart behaviour which has to provide the same goods and services using less energy resources. Serbia uses twice more energy than that of the global average, and there are not many reasons for such conduct. That is the reason why events like this are necessary, so that experts could exchange know-how and experience and examples of good practice could be presented. This is an opportunity for local self-governments to present their projects to investors, and for bankers and insurance companies to facilitate the implementation of projects”, emphasised Stanković.

In addition to energy efficiency, as the central topic, this year’s event involved sessions and workshops on renewable energy sources, climate changes, sustainable construction, waste as an energy resource, geopolitical impact on energy sector development, and a number of other topics.

Within the event, the representative of the European Affairs Fund of Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Gordana Jakovljević held a workshop “Public procurement according to the EU regulations”. The participants could learn about the basic rules of public procurement, public procurement rules of services, goods and works, content of tender dossier and evaluation of bids.
