A training course in Sombor marked the launch of the second cycle of training courses for education workers in Vojvodina
The continuation of cooperation between the European Affairs Fund of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and Provincial Secretariat for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities – National Communities on the implementation of the project “Prospects of EU funding for education“ was marked by the first training session for the employees of educational institutions of AP Vojvodina in the second semester of the Academic Year 2014/2015 which was held in Sombor.
In 2014, the training course “EU Funds: from the idea to realization” was undergone by 125 attendees from 51 institutions of Vojvodina in the form of 5 training sessions held in Kanjiža, Sremska Mitrovica, Kikinda, Vršac and Subotica. Six training courses in total were planned to be held in the second semester, out of which the first one was held at the student dormitory in Sombor from 11th to 13th February 2015. The training course on EU project development was received by a total of 23 participants from 13 institutions from the municipalities of Sombor, Apatin, Odžaci and Kula.
The first day, the participants had the opportunity to learn about the EU funding prospects under the EU programmes, such as Erasmus +, Creative Europe and Europe for Citizens, while special emphasis was placed on CBC programmes with Hungary and Croatia which were relevant to the area of West Bačka District, and which were financed under the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA). The second day, the participants could gain hands-on experience in the development of cross-border projects by formulating the basic elements of the project within the logical framework. The training resulted in five project ideas in the field of educational tourism, work with children of marginalized social groups, introduction of practical teaching in the departments of secondary vocational schools whose curriculum did not involve that aspect, as well as presentation of the school as a multifunctional institution that was crucial for the development of small communities while emphasizing the role of rural schools. The last day, the topic was project budgeting and the content of application forms. In addition, the EU Info Point Novi Sad presented the project of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia called “Europa Diary Project – Wise Choice 2014-2015”.
The trainings will have involved more than 270 participants from more than 106 educational institutions of Vojvodina by the end of the Academic Year 2014/2015.
