Duration of the program:

Additional information:

General objective: The Danube Transnational Program (DTP) is a financial instrument of a specific scope and with an independent decision-making body that supports the unification of policies in the Danube area in selected fields under common provisions of the European Union (EU) and regulation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (ERDF) in connection with the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR). The strategic vision is "policy integration" at instances below the EU (to avoid duplication of already undertaken efforts towards policy integration within the EU, eg TEN-T) and above national levels in specific fields of action. Transnational projects should have an impact on national, regional and local politics. In order to achieve a greater degree of territorial integration in the highly heterogeneous Danube region, the DTP will act as a driving engine of policy and will pioneer to tackle common challenges and needs in specific policy spheres, where transnational cooperation is expected to lead to good results through development and the practical implementation of policy frameworks, tools and services and concrete pilot investments that will aim to achieve high complementarity with the wider EUSDR.
