The representatives of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, Andrija Aleksić and Jano Puškar have presented the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) at the fifth session of the Provincial Social and Economic Council (PSEC), chaired by Slavko Vlaisavljević. Since the activities of EESC partly match those of PSEC, the idea proposed was to establish direct cooperation between the two institutions.

Miroslav Vasin, Provincial Secretary for Economy, Employment and Gender Equality, suggested strengthening the cooperation between the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina and PSEC in order to consider the idea or platform based on which the PSEC could be involved in the EESC activities in the future. Aleksić pointed out the important role of EESC in the European Union and the fact that the EESC, beside the Committee of the Regions, was one of the most powerful institutions in the EU. When creating relevant EU legislation, the EESC was asked for its opinion by the European Commission, Council and Parliament and it was often the case that important decisions wer made there. Moreover, it was pointed that it was an institution with a strong potential for lobbying and negotiation which could be useful for institutions from Serbia and AP Vojvodina participating in different EU projects.
