Representatives of European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina in visit to Slovenia

The representatives of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina have met with Slovenian partners from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food and the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning. The possibility of co-operation and creation of joint EU-funded projects was discussed at the meetings, and special attention was paid to the exchange of experience to seize new opportunities for the development of agriculture through 5th component of the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance aimed at rural development.

“In its accession period, the Republic of Slovenia used EU assistance from the SAPARD financial programme related to the development of agriculture and rural areas, and it utilized a great amount for those purposes. Our farmers can expect substantial funds in the future programming period 2014-2020. In order to use the resources in the most efficient way and in accordance with the EU procedures, it is necessary to prepare institutions and build capacities, and with this aim, the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina will enhance its activities in the field and continue to visit the rural areas of the Province of Vojvodina”, said Andrija Aleksić, Head of EU Funds Department of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina.

Since the European Commission is celebrating 50 years of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) this year, during the visit to Slovenia, a meeting was held with the representatives of the European Commission in Slovenia. The topics discussed invovolved the procedures that need to be addressed in the preparation phase, as well as structures that need to be established for the use of EU funds in the future. Serbia and Slovenia have a chance to participate jointly in European programmes, such as EUREKA, Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP), TEMPUS, Erasmus Mundus, Youth in Action, Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (CIP).
