New European projects with Istra

The delegation of Istra County, which has been cooperating with AP Vojvodina for ten years, is visiting our province. On this occasion, they have had a meeting with Predrag Novikov, director of European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina. “Istra has been present in Brussels for a long time. It is not a whim, but a political benefit; it is looking into the future. Nowadays, when we are a step from accession to the European Union, we are considering the option of opening a representation office in New York as well”, said Vedran Grubišić, deputy county prefect of Istra County at the press conference for newsmen upon the meetings in Vojvodina.

“Today we have talked about a lot of sectors where we are expected to intensify our cooperation: water resources, waste management, rural development, cultural heritage, etc. The colleagues from Istra have offered us support both in the EU integration processes and in the management of pre-accession funds. I am very pleased that the cooperation will broaden and involve joint projects with the University of Novi Sad, as well as our future presence in Brussels”, emphasized director Novikov. Milan Ćeran, director of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of Vojvodina, also participated in the meetings. After the discussion at the Assembly of AP Vojvodina, the guests visited the Novi Sad Fair, where Istra’s participation in the following events was agreed. The delegation of Istra was particularly interested in presenting themselves at the Agriculture Fair and Tourism Fair.
