“Office for European Affairs on tour” in Novi Kneževac

The seminar entitled “On the way to the European Union” of the Office for European Affairs was held at the premises of Novi Kneževac Municipality. The participants were representatives of local self-government, construction directorate, municipal assembly, public utility companies, other municipal organizations and the media, who were informed about the importance of European and Provincial funds for local development, as well as of capacity building of local self-government for foreign investment attraction.

Igor Bajić, Advisor for European Integration Processes, Office for European Affairs, presented the goals, activities and results of the Office for European Affairs. In the second part of the presentation, Andrija Aleksić, responsible for CBC and European Funds, Office for European Affairs, presented the current and forthcoming CBC Programs and announced the training in project writing that will take place at the premises of the Office for European Affairs in Novi Sad.

The participants were particularly interested in the presentation of Nenad Đuretić, Head of Marketing, Capital Investment Fund, on the approved projects in North Banat District and Novi Kneževac.

In the discussion about the opportunities that local self-governments and other organizations in the field have, Ivana Lekić, Lawyer, Office for European Affairs, emphasized that a more favorable climate for the stimulation of direct foreign investment will be developed by signing the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA).
