Statement on the visit to Srbobran municipality by the Office for European Affairs
Igor Bajić, Advisor for EU Integration of the Office for European Affairs, has visited Srbobran municipality today, within the programme “On the way to the EU”, which the Office for European Affairs is implementing in our province.
During the meeting with the President of Srbobran Municipality, Branko Gajin, Igor Bajić emphasized the importance of European funds for rural development and an important step in capacity building of local self-government in attracting foreign investment. The representative of the Office for European Affairs was also informed about the activities of municipal administration in identifying potential cross-border partners.
During the seminar, which was attended by the representatives of local self-government, utility companies, other municipal organizations, national library, cultural and sport institutions, Igor Bajić gave examples of successful municipalities and invited the attendees to share experiences with their colleagues and submit their project applications in the following call for proposals.
The fact that Srbobran municipality and neighboring places had a long tradition of tourist offer, hunting and fishing and that there was a hippodrome and equestrian club was not only a chance, but also an obligation, which the Office representative was sure the population of Srbobran would not miss under the following CBC calls for proposals.
