President Bojan Pajtić received the delegation of the project “Enhancing EU Visibility in Serbia”

Novi Sad, 22 May – The President of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Bojan Pajtić, MA, has received today the delegation of the project “Enhancing EU Visibility in Serbia”. The delegation consisted of His Excellency the Slovenian Ambassador, Miroslav Luci, His Excellency the Austrian Ambassador, Gerhard Jandl, His Excellency the Slovakian Ambassador, Igor Furdik and the representatives of the European Commission and European Agency for Reconstruction. The purpose of the visit was the promotion of projects in our province that EU institutions were implementing. Both sides emphasized the significance of the support the EU provided to Serbia and the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina for the realization of economic and political priorities of our country in the EU accession process and endeavor to achieve full membership. Moreover, emphasis was also placed on the importance of further development of regional cooperation between the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and Slovenia, Austria and Slovakia, as well as on the strengthening of relations with other interested partners worldwide. Therefore, according to the ambassadors of the above mentioned countries in our country, there were plans to continue with cooperation development, with ambitions to fulfill all necessary conditions for strengthening further the economic and other ways of cooperation. An important aspect of establishing successful relations between Vojvodina, Republic of Serbia and European countries, whose representatives were in visit to Vojvodina that day, was mirrored in the retention of multinational core. That uniqueness of Vojvodina offered a possibility for faster and more qualitative connections with the world, which would at the same time contribute to better perspective of the Republic of Serbia, especially in joint projects, which would be financed from EU funds.

Bojan Pajtić, MA, pointed out the support of European representatives to the provincial decision to guarantee places in the Assembly of Vojvodina for the representatives of national communities, being the practice in other European countries. At the end of the meeting, President Pajtić said that he believed in favourable climate for our advancement to the EU and that the successful cooperation we had would certainly contribute to the creation of even better bilateral relations. Apart from the Prime Minister of Vojvodina, the participants in the discussion were the Provincial Secretary of Economy, Siniša Lazić, Provincial Secretary of Finance, Jovica Đukić, Director of the Office for European Affairs, Predrag Novikov, Deputy Provincial Secretary for Regional and International Cooperation, Barbara Avdalović, Director of the Development Fund, Mihailo Brkić, and Director of Vojvodina Investment Promotion – VIP Fund, Branislav Bugarski.
