Lecture “The EU Model of Development Management“ by Mladen Šimunac within the third cycle of the Programme “Management of Regional Development through EU Funds“

On Friday, 10th November 2017, Mladen Šimunac, a visiting foreign lecturer (from the Republic of Croatia), held a well visited lecture “The EU Model of Development Management“ within the framework of the third cycle of the Programme “Management of Regional Development through EU Funds“, which was organized by the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina and the Faculty of Economics in Subotica, Department in Novi Sad.

The attendees of the Programme had an opportunity to hear about examples of the practice of EU member states that created specialised products, which singled them out from the other countries, not only from the EU ones, and in what manner those products contributed to the development of a certain region or state.
Mladen Šimunac has had a long experience in the preparation and implementation of development and investment projects, as well as in the management of complex strategic planning processes. He has been the team leader of interdisciplinary teams in the region in projects on capacity building, drafting strategic documents and planning documents at all levels, and providing technical assistance to public bodies in the process of EU accession. He has been engaged in the development of more than 100 strategic documents of local and regional authorities, including not only basic strategic documents, but also specialized strategies aimed at the development of individual sectors.
As a trainer and lecturer, he has held several hundred seminars in the past ten years. He has been enthusiastic about getting involved in the education programmes on strategic planning, regional and rural development.
