Professional practice in Šibenik-Knin County within the Programme “Management of Regional Development through EU Funds“

Within the framework of the Programme “Management of Regional Development through EU Funds, professional practice – a study visit to Šibenik-Knin County of the Republic of Croatia was held from 14th to 17th September 2017 and organised by the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina.

Beside the Fund’s representatives, the participants of the professional practice were the attendees of the third generation of the Programme, which is being held in cooperation with the Faculty of Economics in Subotica, consisting of representatives of local self-governments, public and public utility companies, employees of provincial institutions and representatives of the civil sector from the territory of AP Vojvodina.

 

The delegation had meetings with Mrs. Gabrijela Žalac, Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds of the Republic of Croatia, and Spomenka Đurić, State Secretary, moreover, Mladen Šimunec, consultant for local and regional development and EU projects, Antonio Brajković, Mayor of Skradin, Damir Mandić, Mayor of Karlovac, Mira Lepur, Director of the Regional Development Agency of Šibenik–Knin County, and Goran Pauk, County Prefect.

 

The visit focused on familiarisation with and tour of the implemented EU projects. Among them were the Krka National Park, Fortress of St. Mihovil in Šibenik (reconstruction), the island of Prvić (infrastructure and cultural heritage), Vodice bypass (traffic infrastructure), the canyon of the Krka River where the Banj beach, promenade of Sv. Ante (St. Anthony) to the estuary and fortress of St. Nikola had been restored, memorial centre of Faust Vrančić in Prvić Port, and wholesale market in Tribunj.

 

In addition to exchanging experience on already implemented EU projects, the discussion touched upon joint projects by means of which applications for EU funds would be submitted, with a special focus on the Danube Transnational Programme and Creative Europe.
