Meetings under the EU InterReg IVC Project “Waterways Forward” held in Budapest
Based on its participation in the European project “Waterways Forward”, the representatives of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina attended the meetings in Budapest, where the project partners presented their action plans. The representative of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, Dražen Lovrić talked about the cooperation between the Fund and PWMC “Vode Vojvodine“, as well as the activities that were to be taken in order to define the project action plan to improve the inland waterways in the province. In Budapest, there were three workshops on the policies regulating inland waterways, development of tourism related to inland waterways and a workshop on climate changes.
The “Waterways Forward” is a project that focuses on the improvement of inland waterways, infrastructure, socio-economic development and cohesion and that involves 17 project partners from 11 EU Member States, Norway and Serbia. The duration of the project is 36 months, and the total value is 2.8 million Euros. Vojvodina’s role in the project is to contribute to the improvement of regional action plans and development strategies which will be integrated in EU green and white paper documents.
