The Danube Region Programme (DRP) is launching the 3rd Call for Proposals

(Interreg VI-B) The Danube Region Programme is officially launching the Third Public Call for Proposals. The deadline for submitting project proposals will be open until 15 December 2025 at 14.00 Central European Time (CET). The call also applies to potential applicants from Serbia, who can also be the lead partner in the project.

The Programme will support projects focused on the following specific objectives within the relevant thematic priorities:

Priority 1 – A Smarter Danube Region

  • Specific objective 1.2 Developing skills for smart specialization, industrial transition and entrepreneurship

Priority 2 – A greener, low-carbon Danube Region

  • Specific objective 2.1 – Promoting renewable energy in line with Directive (EU) 2018/2001, including the sustainable criteria defined by the Directive
  • Specific objective 2.2 – Promoting capacities for climate change adaptation in the Danube Region and natural disaster management at transnational level in relation to environmental risks, taking into account ecosystem approaches
  • Specific objective 2.3 – Sustainable, integrated, transnational water and sediment management in the Danube River Basin, ensuring a good quality and quantity balance between water and sediment deposits

Priority 3 – A socially oriented Danube Region

  • Specific objective 3.1 – Accessible, inclusive and efficient labour markets
  • Specific objective 3.2 – Quality, accessible and inclusive services in education, training and lifelong learning

Priority 4 – Better governance of cooperation in the Danube Region

  • Specific objective 4.2 – Strengthening institutional capacities for territorial and macro-regional governance

The Danube Region Programme promotes economic, social and territorial cohesion in the Danube Region through the integration of policies in selected areas of action. The Programme provides financial support to transnational cooperation projects that contribute to the development of a more innovative, sustainable and socially oriented Danube Region.

The programming area covers the territory of 14 countries that make up the macro-region, 9 of them are EU members: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany (Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria), Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia, and 5 non-EU countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, Moldova and Ukraine.

This call for proposals is a single-step process. Applicants are required to prepare and submit a complete application form online via the Joint Electronic Monitoring System – JEMS.

Each project, whose duration is limited to a maximum of 30 months and whose expected start date is 1 July 2026, must involve at least three financial partners from three different countries of the Programme area – a lead partner and at least two project partners. At least one of the partners must be from an EU Member State belonging to the Programme area.

The Programme will allocate EUR 27.3 million to finance projects under this call. The maximum EU contribution to project budgets is 80%.

The Ministry of European Integration will organize an Info Day on the occasion of the announcement of the Third Call within the Danube Region Programme. Information on the date, time and format of the Info Day will be announced later.
