European Week of Regions and Cities 2026 – Panel Discussion Smart Regions: How Digitalization and Innovation Are Reshaping Europe

This panel brings together regional and local stakeholders from EU Member States and candidate countries to exchange concrete policy examples, experiences and good practices on how digitalization, research, and innovation are transforming regions and communities.

The discussion will explore how digital solutions and innovation can contribute to more efficient public services, boost regional competitiveness, and support inclusive growth. By sharing experiences and perspectives, participants will discuss approaches to strengthening cross-border cooperation and fostering smarter, more resilient regions, while creating opportunities for closer collaboration between EU Member States and candidate countries.
