Working meeting upon the CBC Croatia-Serbia Programme on the project “Danube Connects Us“

The city of Kula hosted the working meeting on Friday, 28 February 2020, at which participants have agreed on the steps and improvement of future cooperation on the proposal of the “Danube Connects Us“ project.

Beside the representatives of the municipality of Kula, the meeting was attended by the representatives of the national councils of: Ruthenians, Slovaks and Hungarians, representatives of Vukovar – Srijem County, Croatian Nacional Council in the Republic of Serbia, Provincial Secretariat for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities – National Communities, representatives of the national councils of minorities from Serbia and Croatia, as well as the representatives of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina.

The goal of the “Danube Connects Us” project is to strengthen the institutional integration of national minorities, the social and economic development of the cross-border area through the implementation of joint projects and activities involving national minorities. Damjan Miljanić, the Mayor of Kula supported the cooperation within the project.

In his address, Mr Damjan Miljanić emphasized that the Municipality of Kula has experience in implementing similar projects, and that the meeting was held in order to welcome interested parties to launch a new cross-border cooperation programme as soon as possible.
