Promotion of XDEGREE project at the 86th International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad
As part of the activities of the “Exploitation of Different Energy Sources for Green Energy Production – XDEGREE”, which is co-financed by the European Union within the framework of the INTERREG IPA CBC Programme Croatia-Serbia, the achieved project results focusing on the analytical study “Possibilities and Practical Application of Renewable Energy Sources in Public Utilities” were presented on 15 May 2019.
The biogas plant in Sombor and the solar plant in Vinkovci, which will contribute to the preservation of the environment, are in the final stage of assembly, while the laboratory for biomass testing in Osijek and the laboratory for quality testing and creation of formulas for the production of biogas in Novi Sad have been fully equipped and put into operation. To serve as a reminder, the project aims to promote and improve the use of various renewable energy sources in the cross-border area. One of the objective is to use biomass in plants to produce biogas and to raise public awareness of the potential of renewable energy sources to protect the environment.
Prof. Filip Kulić PhD, Project Manager, said that the analysis of the quality of raw materials from which biogas was produced was left to be done and that a formula for replenishing digesters for biogas production in Sombor was to be created. He explained that after the completion of the project, the new energy production capacities were expected to be higher to a considerable extent. He added that the main idea was for such plants to be built on farms where there was animal and plant production and that the industries in urban areas were problematic because there were no laws that would force people to deal with waste separation.
The presentation was organized at the project stand in Hall 1 as part of the project presentation and promotion at the 86th International Fair in Novi Sad.
