How to suppress mosquitoes in a healthy way in Osijek

Within the framework of the Mos-Cross project, a round table for representatives of local self-government units was held in Osijek on 25th April 2019. The representatives of the Institute of Public Health, Hrvoje Bekina and Dario Brdarić held a presentation on the measures how to control mosquitoes using environmentally friendly agents and on individual measures for protection against mosquito bites and mosquito-borne diseases. The spring months are the period when mosquitoes develop and an ideal time for educating people who are responsible for implementing the measures of mosquito disinsection.

Recommendations were made within the framework of the “Mosquito Control in Cross-border Area” project, co-financed by the EU under the Interreg IPA CBC Croatia-Serbia.

The recommendations for local self-government units regarding the control of mosquitoes and prevention of mosquito-borne diseases, as well as the project promotional material were distributed to the representatives of local self-government units. The round table was attended by the Mos-Cross project team members of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, Sanja Čuturilov Veselinović and Dragana Srećkov.
