Conference “Via Habsburg“ in Arad

The representatives of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, Mina Radmilović Pjevac and Dragan Srećkov, participated in the conference “Via Habsburg” in the Romanian town of Arad. Given that Romania took over the presidency of the Council of the European Union from the Republic of Austria, the commitment of Arad County to the promotion of European values, as well as the cultural and historical heritage the county inherited from the Habsburg Monarchy, a conference was organized in Arad on 27th March in cooperation with the Institute Regions of European from Salzburg, whose member the Fund has been for many years. The conference gathered a number of regional decision-makers and cultural stakeholders.

As highlighted during the conference, the Via Habsburg project was one of the cultural paths of the Council of Europe. The conclusion of the discussions of the three panels was that a similar cultural path was missing for Eastern and Southeast Europe, where the Habsburg monarchy had shaped its historical development.

The representative of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina and of the Antenna of Creative Europe Culture Desk Serbia, Mina Radmilović Pjevac presented the Creative Europe Culture Desk and the Antenna of Creative Europe Culture Desk, their activities and funding opportunities under Creative Europe, the results of the applicants from the Republic of Serbia under the Creative Europe calls for proposals, as well as funding opportunities for cultural institutions under the cross-border cooperation programmes.

The conference was also attended by Nebojša Drakulić, Asistant Provincial Secretary for Regional Development, Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-Government, Dr. Franz Schausberger, Chairman of the Institute of the Regions of Europe, Stefano Dominioni, Head of Cultural Routes, Council of Europe, Leyla Strobl, Director of the Austrian Committee of the Blue Shield, and Elisabeth Udolf-Strobl, President and Manager of Via Habsburg.
