Belgrade Prepares for the World: One Year to EXPO 2027

Only 365 days remain until Belgrade takes its place at the center of global attention.
On May 15, 2027, EXPO 2027 will officially open its doors, marking the beginning of the largest international event ever hosted by Serbia.
To date, 137 countries have confirmed their participation, already making Belgrade a record-holder among specialized EXPO exhibitions by the number of participating nations.
Over the course of 93 days, EXPO 2027 will welcome millions of visitors and host thousands of events, bringing together cultures, innovation, sports, and music from across the globe. Under the theme “Play for Humanity – Sport and Music for All”, Belgrade will become the first city in the history of the Western Balkans to host a world EXPO exhibition.
Preparations for EXPO 2027 are already transforming the future of Serbia. More than 600,000 square meters of new facilities and infrastructure are under development, including exhibition halls, national pavilions, accommodation capacities, roads, and accompanying amenities — creating a lasting legacy for both Belgrade and the country as a whole.
One year from now, Serbia will welcome the world to an event that will redefine not only the image of Belgrade and Serbia, but also the way the world sees this region.
