Opening ceremony to mark the beginning of the 5th cycle of the Specialized Programme “Management of Regional Development through EU Funds”

The official opening of the 5th cycle of the Specialized Programme “Management of Regional Development through EU Funds” has been held at the Faculty of Economics in Sremska Kamenica. The Programme has been implemented successfully by the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina for years.
“The participants’ great interest, as well as a clear need for an increasing number of individuals able to implement EU projects have led us to organize another Programme in the same year this autumn,” said Vidosava Enderić, Director of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, while welcoming the participants. “Each our generation has grown in number compared to the previous one. The statistics we are keeping are in our favour – over 65% of the participants is in a way involved in a certain type of EU funding. In the following four months, after 200 hours distributed in 4 modules, I believe you will be ready to participate actively in programmes about which you will learn from excellent lecturers,” said Enderić, and reminded of the fact that the Programme was fully funded by the Provincial Government.  The participants were greeted by Aleksandar Andrejević, Rector of Educons University, who informed the participants about the involvement of the University in the implementation of an EU project, which was also a type of gaining knowledge He invited the participants to get engaged in projects.
Оgnjen Bjelić, Provincial Secretary for Regional Development, Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-Government, said that it was very important to invest in oneself, to master a foreign language and that theoretical knowledge was important, but living projects were the base – without knowing the basics such programmes would not be successful enough. The adopted projects of the local self-governments in AP Vojvodina would be examples of best practice, and the way in which the participants would learn how the whole region was being networked. Secretary Bjelić reminded of the Agreement of Cooperation in European integrations that he had signed with Jadranka Joksimović, Minister of European Integration, during the joint session of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Provincial Government, and whose main goal was to improve cooperation and coordination pertaining to the activities of strengthening the process of accession of the Republic Serbia to the European Union.
