Representatives of the Red Cross Vojvodina attended a training course on project funding

Based on the cooperation between the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina and the Red Cross of Vojvodina, the training course “EU Funding Opportunities” was held at the Red Cross on Vršac Hill on 5-7 June.
The participants were welcomed by Boško Dmitrašinović, Secretary of the Red Cross of Vojvodina, who emphasized the importance of such type of education for the Red Cross employees. During the three-day training course, the Fund’s representatives Jelena Tošković, Jano Puškar, Tamara Glišić-Krivošija and Zoran Pavić, informed the participants about the basic steps in the preparation of an EU project, as well as about all EU funding opportunities available to the Republic of Serbia.
On the first day, the presentation involved the Interreg IPA CBC programmes with an emphasis on the currently open call under the programme between Hungary and Serbia. In addition, the participants were informed about the available programmes in the framework of the joint EU programmes where the Contracting Authority is the European Commission seated in Brussels. The second day of the training involved gaining hands-on experience and the participants developed project ideas in groups. One idea was about improving the social life of elderly citizens, while the other group aimed to improve the capacity of the Red Cross of Vojvodina to provide services to its users. On the third day, the participants got acquainted with the concept of EU project budgeting. The structure of the budget, resource planning and ways of determining and calculating costs were presented. At the end of the training, the participants attempted to budget the most common project costs through a joint exercise.
The goal of the training was to improve the institutional capacities of the Red Cross of Vojvodina for the development of EU funded projects.
