Vojvodina establishes successful cooperation with the Italian region of Umbria
Novi Sad, 31 August – Siniša Lazić, Provincial Secretary of Economy, Predrag Novikov, Director of the Office for European Affairs, and representatives of the Italian region of Umbria, with whom the Province of Vojvodina has established economic and cultural cooperation, have informed the public on the realization of the initiated activities at today’s press conference at the Executive Council of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. The members of the Italian delegation addressing the public were Ernesta Maria Ranieri, heading the Directorate General for Agriculture of Umbria Region, and Roberto Crisafi, Chief Executive of the Office of International Relations, Umbria. Cooperation between the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and the region of Umbria on specific projects is serious work in the process of our country’s real accession to the EU. That was the common view the representatives of Umbria Region and hosts at the Executive Council of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina expressed at the conference. The cooperation priorities have been based on the economic strengthening of our country and its direction towards the financial resources of the European Union. In terms of cultural relations, the joint jazz festival in Novi Sad, Umbria Jazz Balkanic Windows, a concert of Italian and our musicians, has great importance. It is the second most significant jazz festivals in the world, aimed at gathering young musicians, who will contribute to development of their countries.
The feasibility study “Agrifood Technology Park of Vojvodina”, which first part was presented to the public today, is one of the projects of the INePS Programme (Italian Negotiated Programming in Serbia), Ministry of Economic Development of Italy. The main objective is to encourage the realization of projects on territorial cooperation and exchange of experience on the basis of coordinated planning in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. The feasibility study on establishing the Agrifood Technology Park of Vojvodina has been realized by the 3A Agrifood Technology Park of Umbria (3A-PTA) in partnership with the Institute of Food Technology, University of Novi Sad and Regional Development Agency of MFA, Alma Mons, supported by the Provincial Secretariat of Economy of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. The study is a part of the Protocol on Cooperation between Umbria Region and the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina signed in 2006.
