The second group of educational workers from Sombor on a training course on EU project development
The funding opportunities for the field of education are numerous, and since recently, educational institutions in Vojvodina have been greatly intested in providing additional funding for schools by project funding. The employees of the Secondary School of Economics in Sombor have acknowledged that EU projects offer an opportunity to enhance their school’s activities and they are one of the few schools that are successful in attracting EU funds, especially under the CBC programmes, in cooperation with partner organisations.
With the aim of including a greater number of teachers in EU project development and implementation, the employees of the Secondary School of Economics in Sombor underwent a three-day training course “EU Funding Opportunities“, held by the representatives of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, Čarna Zeljković and Tamara Glišić.
The training was held at the school premises from 3rd to 5th January 2016, for 24 participants. During the training, the educational workers’ attitudes and skills were developed, so that they could take an active role in developing projects on their own. The trainees obtained detailed information on the novelties of EU programmes with an emphasis on education, as well as opportunities offered by CBC programmes available for institutions in Sombor. Special attentions was given to the characteristics of the Interreg IPA CBC Hungary-Serbia and the programme Interreg IPA CBC Croatia-Serbia. Moreover, the participants were informed about the opportunities under Erasmus+ and eTwinning portal, which was created specially for networking institutions for pre-university education to enhance the application of ICT in teaching. In addition to the CBC programmes, the presentation also included the Europe for Citizens programme, which offered CSOs and other units of local authority opportunities for cooperation.
The three-day training course resulted in four developed project ideas, which could be submitted under some of the EU call for proposals, to be open in the forthcoming period.
