In cooperation with the Provincial Secretariat for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities – National Communities, the representatives of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina have held the second session in a series of training courses ‘’EU Funds-from idea to realization’’ aimed at the representatives of educational institutions in AP Vojvodina. The training course was held at the premises of the secondary school students’ dorm in Sremska Mitrovica, and the participants were comprised of 26 members of 11 institutions from the territory of Ruma, Sremska Mitrovica and Šid.

During the three-day intensive course, the attendees could obtain detailed information on the structure and areas covered by the EU programme for education, training, youth and sport – Erasmus+, however, special attention was put on the cross-border cooperation (CBC) programmes funded under the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA) and relevant to the Srem District: IPA Cross-Border Programme Croatia – Serbia and IPA Cross-Border Programme Serbia – Bosnia and Herzegovina. In a series of lectures and workshops, the participants could gain hands-on experience in the development of basic elements of a project using the logical framework approach as the starting point in the development. The topics covered involved the preparation of logical matrix, budgeting of project and filling-in of application form. Moreover, the attendees participated actively in the group work and shaped their project ideas according to the lecturers’ guidelines. As an important result of the training was five project ideas representing the priorities of educational institutions, which according to their content, were in line with the priorities and objectives of both EU programmes and national and provincial strategic documents. All project ideas were based on the employment of local resources and aimed at enriching pupils’ school life, as well as solving local problems. The topics covered by the attendees’ project ideas involved the problem of obesity in young people and promotion of healthy diet, furthermore solving the problem of bullying in schools, improving pupils’ skills in the acquisition of linguistic and IT competence, development of educational programmes for pupils with developmental difficulties, as well as pupils’ active inclusion in the activities of the local community by increasing the role of pupil parliament.

The training courses were to include over 270 participants from 106 institutions involving nine municipalities in Vojvodina until the end of the Academic Year 2014/2015. The next training course was to take place in Kikinda.
