Presentation on the Polish presidency of the European Union

The Republic of Poland takes over the six-month presidency of the European Union commencing on 1 July 2011. On that occasion, a Polish analyst, Adam Balcer has held a presentation on the topic of ”Polish Presidency of the European Union and the Western Balkans” in Novi Sad today. The event was organized by the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina and International and Security Affairs Centre (ISAC Fund). The presentation covered the objectives of Polish presidency, Polish experience in accessing the European Union, as well as economic, financial, trading and political benefits for institutions of integration into the European Community.

Predrag Novikov, director of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina opened the event and Agnieszka Marszalek-Gunia, 3rd secretary for political issues, media, cultural and scientific cooperation at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Serbia participated as well. The attendees at the meeting were also representatives of cities and municipalities from the territory of AP Vojvodina, provincial secretariats, public and public utility companies, chambers of commerce, furthermore, members of coordination group for the use of EU funds and students.
