Conference “Cultural Heritage – Added Value for the Regions“
Marking the European Year of Cultural Heritage, the 2nd International Expert Conference “Cultural Heritage – Added Value for the Regions” was held at the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina on 27 April 2018. It was organised by the Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE), and supported by the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Provincial Government, Central European Initiative (CEI), etc.
The aim of the conference was to present best-practice examples for preserving cultural heritage in different European regions, and exchange experiences and knowledge for conservation. The target groups were regional and local politicians, members of NGOs, the media and cultural stakeholders in the region.
The welcoming addresses were given by Franz Schausberger, IRE Chairman, Member of the Committee of the Regions, Special Advisor of the European Commission, István Pásztor, President of the Assembly of AP Vojvodina, Dalibor Rožić, Member of the City Council for Culture, Paul-Henri Presset, Head of Information, Communication and Press, Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia, Johannes Irschik, Director of the Austrian Cultural Forum, Austrian Embassy, and Dragana Milošević, Provincial Secretary for Culture, Public Information and relations with Religious Communities.
In the panel discussion “Regional Cultural Heritage – A European Vision for Prosperity”, Mina Radmilović Pjevac, Antenna Creative Europe Culture Desk Serbia, and Dimitrije Tadić, Head of the Creative Europe Culture Desk Serbia, presented the EU programme for culture and audio-visual arts – Creative Europe.
In the panel discussion “Best-Practice Examples of Cultural Heritage Protection and its Financing”, experts from all over Europe, including Serbia, presented their experiences.
