Conference #OneRegionOneMarket – A Step towards Common Market of the EU
In the joint organization of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Serbia and the Regional forum of Young Leaders, from 28th-29th of September 2021, Conference #OneRegionOneMarket -A Step towards Common Market of the EU, was held in Novi Sad.
The conference aimed to bring together young leaders, business community representatives and decision makers from the Western Balkans region, develop discussion on the modalities of political and institutional cooperation, aimed at creating conditions for establishing a common market in the Western Balkans.
First day of the conference began with a grand opening at Sheraton Hotel, where Mr. Norbert Beckmann-Dierkes, head of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation office in Serbia, Mr. Milos Vučević, Mayor of Novi Sad and Mr. Aleksandar Simurdic, director of European Affairs Fund AP Vojvodina, addressed the media. After the opening ceremony, the first session followed – “Free movement of people”, which was attended by 50 young leaders from the region, and the second -“Digitalization, investment, industry and innovation with examples of a good practice in the region”. The end of the first day, organized in the form of a business dinner for the representatives of business community and decision makers of the Western Balkans countries, was held on Petrovaradin Fortress, in the Ceremonial Salons. The dinner was attended, among others, by the Minister of Finance of Republic of Serbia, Mr. Siniša Mali, and the Minister of Economic Development and Social Welfare of Montenegro, Mr. Jakov Milatović.
Second day of the conference began with the Leadership Panel, which was held in the Great Hall of Assembly of AP Vojvodina. The participants were addressed by the Prime Minister of Republic of Serbia, Ms. Ana Brnabić, Prime Minister of Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Zoran Zaev and the Secretary General of Regional Office for Youth Cooperation, Mr. Albert Hani. Moderator of the Leadership Panel was Ms. Tanja Mišcević, Deputy Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council.
At the ending panel- “Forum Europe”, in an interactive discussion, young leaders from the region presented their views on regional integration, challenges they face in important social areas, as well as proposals for solving them. At the very end, closing speeches to the participants were given by Mr. Norbert Beckmann-Dierkes and Mr. Aleksandar Simurdić.
