The possibility of use of EU funds

Novi Sad, 11 May – A conference named “Possibility of Use of EU Funds” was held yesterday at the Executive Council of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and it was organized by the Office for European Affairs. The conference aimed at motivating local self-governments and other applicants to participate in CBC programmes. The conference was held for the second time because of the interest municipalities had shown in CBC cooperation and other development programmes that the family of European countries offered. The first part was the presentation of Andrija Aleksić of the Office for European Affairs on the experience gained in previous CBC programmes, the exploitation of the funds and what the situation at the moment was. The partner of the Office, Prof. Dr. Alessandro Napoli, on behalf of the Italian development agency in Vojvodina INFORMEST, informed the attendees about the new decisions of the IPA Committee and about the most important strategic documents of the IPA Fund which was the only available financial instrument in Serbia at the moment. Maja Sokić of the Vojvodina Cess held a presentation on the IPA Fund and programming. The representatives of the municipalities of Subotica and Pančevo were the most active ones in the conference and shared their experience in neighbourhood programmes 2004 – 2006 with the participants.
