Bojan Pajtić, MA, talked to the Vice-president of the state of Salzburg, Dr. Wilfred Haslauer

Salzburg, Austria, 28 August – Approximately fifty investors from the Austrian state of Salzburg, interested in investing in Serbian economy, will be visiting Belgrade and Novi Sad in October. They will be headed by the Vice-president of the state of Salzburg, Dr. Wilfred Haslauer. It has been confirmed at the meeting between the President of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Bojan Pajtić, MA, and Mr. Haslauer, held today in Salzburg during the third conference of the Institute of the Regions of Europe. The meeting was also attended by Predrag Novikov, Director of the Office for European Affairs. During the meting, President Pajtić informed the host on the general characteristics of our region, pointing out our cultural heritage and six official languages in use in Vojvodina, as well as the possibility of establishing cooperation between the universities of the two regions. “Vojvodina is the most dynamic part of Serbia and presently has the most favourable conditions for foreign investment”, said President Pajtić.

kep Dr. Wilfred Haslauer informed President Pajtić about the present economic situation in Salzburg – very low rate of unemployment (2.8 percent) and increase of export (30 percent) could be a good starting point for cooperation. Predrag Novikov emphasized that Vojvodina could learn a lot from Salzburg, which had become a world brand in culture and tourism, so that the meeting concluded with an agreement on cooperation in the two areas, with special reference to the monasteries of Fruška Gora.
