The beginning of the works on the dredging of the Jegrička watercourse in the Nature Park “Jegrička”
Within the project “Environmentally friendly water management in plain areas“, funded under the Hungary-Serbia IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme, the beginning of the works on the dredging of the Jegrička watercourse in the approximate length of 6 km was officially marked in Temerin on 19th September 2013.
The works will contribute to faster water flow, thus creating preconditions for flood prevention, as well as water quality leading to conservation of flora and fauna. In addition to the Jegrička watercourse, works on the dredging and silt and water quality analysis will be carried out in Hungary as well, on the Kurca canal, which similarly to the Jegrička, plays a vital role in the draining of excess of water and protection against flooding. In addition to PWMC “Vode Vojvodine”, the project partners are the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina and Lower Tisza District Water Directorate ATI-VIZIG from Szeged.
